This site is operated by the Silverbacks Wrestling Club of Mira Mesa
as a courtesy to San Diego wrestlers. The site's purpose
is to provide Kid wrestlers (Schoolboy/girl, Novice, Midget, Bantam, and
Rookie) a place where they can find information about wrestling in San
Diego, and promote USA Wrestling at the state, regional, and national
levels.
"Our whole purpose is to get you on the
mat wrestling and hitting the tournament circuit at the local, state,
regional, and national levels. It doesn't matter which club you
are wrestling for, just so long as you keep bringing it! And are
having fun doing it!"

SIDKWA
The San Diego-Imperial Kids Wrestling
Association (SIDKWA) is the KIDS organization in San Diego County,
primarily geared for Rookie through Cadet.
It is a club oriented association, where the majority of wrestlers
wrestle with SIDKWA member clubs. Although, as with all USAW
wrestling, you only need a USAW card to wrestle. They typically
run a kids program from mid-November thru March each year.
This
year their format has changed from FREESTYLE to FOLKSTYLE.

SDWA
The San Diego Wrestling Association (SDWA)
is primarily geared for older wrestlers - Cadets, Juniors, and Seniors,
but currently offers wrestling for ages down to Midget.
Discussions are currently going on to sanction down thru Bantams.
They run two seasons: Fall (September to mid-November) and Spring (March
thru June).
This coming Fall, all divisions of Kids wrestlers will
be wrestling FOLKSTYLE. In the Spring, all divisions of Kids
wrestlers will be wrestling FREESTYLE and GRECO-ROMAN.
SCHEDULE:
We'll
post the schedule for the Fall season when it's finalized.
TENTATIVE
FALL SCHEDULE: The schedule is being "pencilled
in". If you want to hold a tournament in the fall, please
contact Dick Malliet at: Rmalliet@nethere.com.
Eastlake and Carlsbad are currently possibilities.

pay the annual SDWA membership fee.
